Call for Easter Parade Memories

Have you ever walked in the Easter Parade down Ford Street? Joined in as part of a community group or school? Spent hours—maybe even all night—building a float? Or was it a family tradition to visit Beechworth, watch the parade, and soak up the festivities?

For nearly 100 years, this beloved parade has taken many forms—from Chinese New Year celebrations to the iconic moment when Daniel Cameron rode through town on horses shod with golden horseshoes. Who could forget the Beechworth Bakery’s tradition of tossing dough into the crowd?

As part of the 2026 festival, the Beechworth Golden Horseshoes Festival Committee is planning a special Easter Parade retrospective exhibition. If you have old photos, films, costumes, or even a framed Winner’s Award tucked away, we'd love to see them!

Don't worry if your photos are blurry, unfiltered, or have that classic ‘finger in the corner’—we welcome all pre-mobile phone technology gems! (All images will be copied, and originals returned.)
